SYNOPSIS
Over the course of nearly a decade, A Deeper Love follows Peppermint as her life unfolds in real time. Raised within New York’s nightlife scene, Peppermint builds a career at the intersection of performance, survival, and self-expression. As her talent and charisma propel her to national visibility on RuPaul’s Drag Race and on Broadway, the film captures both the exhilaration of recognition and the weight that comes with it.
Behind the stage lights and public milestones lies a more intimate story. The documentary reveals the everyday realities of navigating the world as a Black trans woman in America. Financial uncertainty, relationships, creative ambition, and the emotional cost of visibility all shape Peppermint’s path.
Through moments of humor, vulnerability, and resilience, A Deeper Love offers a rare portrait of an artist growing into her voice. What begins as a personal chronicle becomes a larger reflection on identity, community, and the enduring power of chosen family.
